bizarre-ness

OK, this will be a short post, cause I could ramble on for pages with theories and queries... The "investigation" in Ethiopia has been going on for 5 weeks. I have been faithfully (or pathetically) following a blog that was set up specifically for affected parents to share any info they may have. I have been reading a few posts that have hinted that the investigation was completed last week... but there was still no official "word" from the ETH gov't. to the orphanages or agencies. This is the latest post today:

From a US Agency that gives daily updates :
The orphanages that are affected by the abandonment issue are supposed to go and ask that the ban be lifted concerning the abandoned children. At this time we do not know what the result will be but I’ll let you know what we find out. This hopefully will take place within the next week or so. This is all of the information that I have regarding this at this time.
And this was the previous post:

An agency from outside the U.S. told their clients that last Thursday all the orphanages in Addis had a meeting to choose a delegation of them to meet with the Ministry of Social Welfare “in order to finish as soon as possible”. No mention of when the meeting with the Ministry will take place or if it already has.

There have been many comments left regarding these posts...including theories that no one (i.e. the orphanage directors) wants to be the first to ask the gov't. what they have concluded. Also, it sounds like there has to be a meeting to set up a meeting to organize a delegation that will then mince, every so gently, up to the steps of the high court or gov't offices, or wherever the decision-makers are ensconsed, to ask if they can discuss the "investigation". And then...I don't EVEN want to think about what will be discussed and for how long. Nope, not going there. Oh, for Pete's sake people...get a bunch of us waiting parents over there to sort this out! Shoot. I dare say that I could get it all sorted out, communicated to all the parties involved AND clean their offices... all in a day. PLEASE!

Woops. I said this would be a short post. Wrong again ;)
